MEMBERSHIP in "Friends of the Alcotts" offers the opportunity to participate in the life of Orchard House through unique and exciting special programs and volunteer activities.

BASIC BENEFITS offer:

  • A 10% discount on Museum Store purchases or mail orders over $5.00

  • Advance notice of and discounts on public programs, including the Annual Holiday Program and the Summer Conversational Series & Teacher Institute

Please note that beginning in 2018, Orchard House implemented a paperless membership system and will no longer mail cards in an effort to conserve natural and human resources (the exception being Library Circuit members).  All member benefits are active once we receive your payment, so you need only have your status verified by our Staff when you visit or place a mail order.

"Philosophers Group" - $250

Basic Benefits for up to 2 adults & up to 4 youths (ages 6-17) + free admission for up to 6 guests per visit + 4 passes to the Holiday Program + a 20% Museum Store discount during the Holiday Program

"Transcendentalist Circle" - $500

Basic Benefits for up to 2 adults & up to 4 youths (ages 6-17) + free admission for up to 8 guests per visit + 6 passes to the Holiday Program + a 20% Museum Store discount during the Holiday Program
(First-time Transcendentalist Circle members also receive the gift of a Little Women hardcover book)

"Scrap~Baggers" - $10

Especially for Young People within the USA

Individual membership only for younger Alcott enthusiasts through age 17.  Benefits provide free admission to regular guided tours + a 10% discount on Museum Store purchases or mail orders over $5.00 + invitations to "Members Only" events (no program/event discounts)

Especially for Young People outside the USA
Same as above, but for those under 17 years living outside the USA

Exclusively for Libraries!  "Library Circuit" - $150

A membership category offered to public libraries so that their patrons may enjoy discounted regular guided tours of Orchard House with the use of a daily pass.  Each pass allows half-priced admission for up to six (6) persons per pass per day.  Library Staff are also entitled to discounts on our public programs and special events.

Members purchase valuable benefits such as unlimited admissions and discounts on programs and Museum Store items, while Donors make an outright gift and receive no goods or services in exchange.

We appreciate Members as part of our “Alcott family” -- they help to tell our story to others all year long.  At the same time, we rely on the generosity of Donors to provide needed funds for major education and preservation expenses which dues and admissions cannot cover.  We invite you to consider helping Orchard House even more by making a tax-deductible gift in addition to your membership today.
