SEPTEMBER 2019

    Sunday     11:00 am     14th Annual Benefit 5K Walk and 5K / 10K Run
Uta Pippig

Event held rain or shine!          Register online beginning March 1st

Featuring UTA PIPPIG and USATF Certified 5K & 10K courses!

Nearly 150 years ago, Louisa May Alcott wrote, “Running was one of the delights of my early days,” proving once again that she was ahead of her time in advocating a healthy lifestyle.  And once again, we are privileged to announce that UTA PIPPIG -- three-time winner of the Boston and Berlin Marathons, winner of the New York City Marathon, two-time Olympian, and internationally-recognized fitness motivator -- continues to serve as Honorary Chair of the event and will be in attendance!

Pippig, founder of “Take the Magic Step,” a fitness awareness program and charitable foundation, believes that everyone owes it to themselves and to future generations to take care of their physical well being.  By participating in this particular Walk/Run, Pippig is also paying tribute to health-conscious individuals who have come before us, like the Alcotts.  The family's involvement in major reforms of their day -- such as abolition and women's rights -- also resonates with Uta's motivational presentations on "Running To Freedom."

All manner of runners and walkers -- from serious marathoners to strollercisers and wheelchair travelers -- are encouraged to "spend a day with Louisa May" and join Uta Pippig in supporting educational programming and historic preservation at the beloved Home of Little Women during this FUNdraiser!

Event held rain or shine at Alcott Elementary School (93 Laurel Street, Concord, MA)
